Just Trying To Annoy Us

They just rock back in their chairs and ask - "what can we do to annoy them today?"

I was recently told in Woolworths "no we gon't give bags on the express lanes"
I was obviously not the only one very peeved off.
Yesterday I noticed, as I walked by on my way to Coles, the bags were back!!
Let's hope there is less and less Green police as the public gets more and more angry with it all.

"ALL Australian homes will have to undergo a mandatory energy-efficiency assessment - costing up to $1500 per property - before they can be sold or rented under new laws to tackle carbon emissions.
The mandatory assessment - being drafted into law by the federal and state governments - will rate homes by an energy efficiency star system, similar to the ratings given to fridges and washing machines.
It will apply to all commercial properties from later this year and to all residential properties from May 2011... "

UK Met Office Discredited

UK DAILY MAIL
How Met Office blocked questions on its own man's role in 'hockey stick' climate row By David Rose

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1249035/How-Met-Office-blocked-questions-mans-role-hockey-stick-climate-row.html#ixzz0ezCa459i

" ...Some of the FOI requests made to them came from the same person who has made requests to the Met Office.
He is David Holland, an electrical engineer familiar with advanced statistics who has written several papers questioning orthodox thinking on global warming.
The Met Office’s first response to Mr Holland was a claim that Prof Mitchell’s records had been ‘deleted’ from its computers.
Later, officials admitted they did exist after all, but could not be disclosed because they were ‘personal’, and had nothing to do with the professor’s Met Office job.
Finally, they conceded that this too was misleading because Prof Mitchell had been paid by the Met Office for his IPCC work and had received Government expenses to travel to IPCC meetings.
The Met Office had even boasted of his role in a Press release when the report first came out.
But disclosure, they added, was still rejected on the grounds it would ‘inhibit the free and frank provision of advice or the free and frank provision of views’.
It would also ‘prejudice Britain’s relationship with an international organisation’ and thus be contrary to UK interests.
In a written response justifying the refusal dated August 20, 2008, Mr Ainsworth – then MoD Minister of State – used exactly the same language.

The disclosure will lead to further questions over possible conflict of interest against Dr Pachauri, whose position as chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is already under threat over errors in its reports... "

"Good God, yet more errors in the IPCC’s 2007 report. And to think Kevin Rudd has based his colossal plan to completely reengineer our economy on this deeply suspect document:
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) report is supposed to be the world’s most authoritative scientific account of the scale of global warming.  But this paper has discovered a series of new flaws in it including:
The publication of inaccurate data on the potential of wave power to produce electricity around the world, which was wrongly attributed to the website of a commercial wave-energy company.
Claims based on information in press releases and newsletters.
New examples of statements based on student dissertations, two of which were unpublished.
More claims which were based on reports produced by environmental pressure groups.
They are the latest in a series of damaging revelations about the IPCC’s most recent report, published in 2007.... "

"Summary
It has been shown above that low altitude cloud cover closely follows cosmic ray flux; that the galactic cosmic ray flux has the periodicities of the glacial/interglacial cycles; that a decrease in galactic cosmic ray flux was coincident with Termination II; and that the most likely initiator for Termination II was a consequent decrease in Earth’s albedo. The temperature of past interglacials was higher than today most likely as a consequence of a lower global albedo due to a decrease in galactic cosmic ray flux reaching the Earth’s atmosphere. In addition, the galactic cosmic ray intensity exhibits a 100 kyr periodicity over the last 200 kyr that is in phase with the glacial terminations of this period. Carbon dioxide appears to play a very limited role in setting interglacial temperature."

ABC Melbourne Radio Attacks Monckton - The Set Up.

Sunday 07 February, 2010 - 16:44 by Grant in Default

views (37)

I don't think Monckton was too worried. The presenter Jon Faine made the attack so obvious he made a fool of himself and his cohort.

Here Andrew Bolt details the attempted snow job which backfired on them very badly.

People are not stupid. The magority of the audience would regognise it for what it was and have their growing doubts on "Climate Change" confirmed.

ANDREW BOLT BLOG
Jon Faine holds a “debate”
Monday, February 01, 2010 at 09:09am
http://blogs.news.com.au/heraldsun/andrewbolt/index.php/heraldsun/comments/jon_faine_holds_a_debate/

" ...Good? Yes, but now see the caveats, restrictions and tipping of the playing field that came with this great concession.

First, Faine announced Monckton was a “denier”... "

" ...Second, Faine brought in fellow alarmist Rupert Posner from the Climate Group to make the odds against Monckton two against one... "

" ...Third, Faine failed to label Posner (a long-time green activist who has worked for Greenpeace)... "

" ...Fourth, Faine repeatedly interrupted and badgered Monckton, but not Posner... "

" ...Fifth, Faine repeatedly gave Posner the second (and final) word, allowing him to make a string of false claims without Monckton being given the chance to correct them... "

" ...Sixth, Faine repeatedly allowed Posner and callers to abuse Monckton in the most offensive and childish manner, even calling him a “lunatic” and suggesting he was corrupt... "

" ...Seventh, Faine did not challenge one of Posner’s more ludicrous claims... "

" ...Eighth, Faine allowed the calls that got through to be entirely dominated by ones hostile to Monckton... "

" ...And ninth, Faine’s personal interventions were not just partisan but so ill-informed - or, rather, so informed by alarmism - that he even claimed “tsunamis” were caused by global warming... "

And all over Melbourne the whole 3LO 774ABC audience is thinking - mmm - there is obviously something to the skepics claims after all!

Monckton can be smug. He knows the science. The climate is on his side. The Sun has gone very quiet. Temps have peaked. Cold is here to stay and Faine and his cohort are just going to look more and more and even more stupid and unprofessional as time goes by.

THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER
How climate-change fanatics corrupted science
By: Michael Barone
Senior Political Analyst
February 3, 2010
http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/politics/How-climate-change-fanatics-corrupted-science-83396362.html

" ...But carbon dioxide emissions are not the only factor affecting global climate. Solar activity and water evaporation and countless other things do too. Climate scientists do not fully understand those things, and how they interact. It is rational for society to want to learn more.

Unfortunately, the cadre of climate scientists who have dominated public discussion and have controlled the IPCC have been demonstrated to be far, far less than trustworthy. Like the theorists who invented epicycles to explain away the failure of Ptolemaic theory to account for astronomical observations, they have distorted science in the interest of something that resembles religious dogma.

The secular religion of global warming has all the elements of a religious faith: original sin (we are polluting the planet), ritual (separate your waste for recycling), redemption (renounce economic growth) and the sale of indulgences (carbon offsets). We are told that we must have faith (all argument must end, as Al Gore likes to say) and must persecute heretics (global warming skeptics are like Holocaust deniers, we are told)... "

If so many don't believe it anymore, if so many never believed it in the first place, WHY?
WHY do we still suffer it?

Green energy will not meet world demand, warns BP boss

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/news/green-energy-will-not-meet-world-demand-warns-bp-boss-1890078.html

" ...Unsurprisingly for the head of an oil company, Mr Hayward suggested that hydrocarbons would continue to play a key role in meeting growing global demand. BP estimates that global energy usage will double by 2050, requiring investment of $1trn a year.

"The share of renewable energy will certainly increase, but we have to be realistic about its contribution," he added. "As of today, all the world's wind, solar, wave, tide and geothermal energy accounts for around 1 per cent of total consumption. Given the practical challenges of scaling up such technologies, the International Energy Agency cannot see them accounting for much more than 5 per cent of consumption in 2030."

Strange Jump In Satellite Temps.

Saturday 06 February, 2010 - 08:29 by Grant in Default

views (10)

Regulars to this blog may remember that I always published the monthly satellite temperatures.
I stopped doing this because it was apparent to me that the Earth's temperature was very stable and self regulating - short jumps in temperature are always smoothed out by following falls.

There are cycles becoming apparent, the science is previously cited in this blog, the shortest cycle seems to be roughly 30 years and we recently peaked on the last one and are heading into a cooling period.

There was a sudden jump in the January global satellite temperature which is interesting, however.

India forms new climate change body

Published: 3:47PM GMT 04 Feb 2010
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/environment/climatechange/7157590/India-forms-new-climate-change-body.html

"The Indian government has established its own body to monitor the effects of global warming because it “cannot rely” on the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the group headed by its own leading scientist Dr R.K Pachauri... "

" ...The UN panel’s claims of glacial meltdown by 2035 “was clearly out of place and didn’t have any scientific basis,” he said, while stressing the government remained concerned about the health of the Himalayan ice flows. “Most glaciers are melting, they are retreating, some glaciers, like the Siachen glacier, are advancing. But overall one can say incontrovertibly that the debris on our glaciers is very high the snow balance is very low. We have to be very cautious because of the water security particularly in north India which depends on the health of the Himalayan glaciers,” he added.

The new National Institute of Himalayan Glaciology will be based in Dehradun, in Uttarakhand, and will monitor glacial changes and compare results with those from glaciers in Pakistan, Nepal and Bhutan"

CHINA DAILY
IPCC errors no excuse for business as usual
By Li Xing (China Daily)
Updated: 2010-02-04 06:32
http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/opinion/2010-02/04/content_9424281.htm

" ...Although climate change as an issue has been around for some 20 years, we still do not have "a clear scientific view on the current state of climate change and its potential environmental and socio-economic consequences", which was the IPCC's stated goal in the first place.

According to many scientists, the IPCC has failed to take into account the often capricious changes brought about by Mother Nature herself.

While I share these concerns, I fear that I may be misunderstood as an advocate for continuing "business as usual". On the contrary, I suggest that the IPCC submit to a thorough review and make its procedures more transparent because its errors threaten to undermine all the hard work that has been done - and must continue to be done - to protect and preserve our home, the Earth.

As an ancient Chinese proverb (yin ye fei shi) says, we must not stop eating for fear of choking.

The effect of the controversy surrounding the IPCC reports is already apparent.

According to a survey released recently by the Pew Research Center for People and the Press in the United States, "dealing with global warming", "protecting the environment", and "dealing with US energy problem" are seen as less urgent than they were three years ago.

In China, environmental protection wasn't even among the top 10 hot issues to be discussed by deputies at last year's National People's Congress, according to an online survey of Chinese Internet users by www.people.com.cn... "

And then the article has a bet each way by going all green,
This is valid - the Chinese, for example, do not bother to scrub sulphur and particulates from their coalfired power stations. The smog around the Beijing Olympics was an indicator that they will need to pay some more attention to their environment in the future as they get more decadent like in the West. (BTW there is absolutely NO need for those smokestack scrubbers on our AUS powerstations which are way out in the countryside in a nation with a low population concentrated in the cities - they just make our power unnessesarily expensive.)

" ...We have enjoyed more than 30 years of robust economic growth. The skylines of urban centers continue to rise, and our roads are increasingly jammed with motor vehicles. The air we breathe has gotten dirtier and our rivers and streams are no longer clean.

The average Chinese causes only one-fourth of the greenhouse gas emissions of the average American. Still, we must realize how far we are behind in energy efficiency. While China's energy use per unit of GDP has decreased steadily in recent years, it remains much higher than that of many developed countries... "

"When I heard that Lord Monckton would appear on the ABC’s 7.30 Report, I wondered: “How will they rig this?”

" ...Answer: of course not. Check those links on the warmists’ names to see how O’Brien lets climate alarmists put their case directly, in friendly one-on-one discussions with him . But now see how Monckton, a sceptic, was set up.

First, Monckton was denied a similar in-studio interview, unedited, with O’Brien, presumably because O’Brien would have been hopelessly exposed and outgunned. Instead, he appeared only in an edited report, interspliced with comments from three fervent warmists: green lobbyist and lawyer John Connor from the Climate Institute, Chief Scientist Penny Sackett and Ben McNeil from the Climate Change Research Centre. (Naturally, not a single sceptical scientist was interviewed in this report.)... "

Peter Hartcher
Sydney Morning Herald political editor
http://www.smh.com.au/opinion/politics/coalition-making-sceptics-of-us-all-20100203-ndgv.html

"It was a puzzle until Barnaby Joyce solved it for us.

Tony Abbott's Coalition doesn't believe that man-made climate change is real. Last year Abbott called the idea ''absolute crap''. So why would he bother announcing a policy to fix it?

Joyce, in his first appearance at the National Press Club as the opposition finance spokesman, was asked to unravel this riddle yesterday... "

" ...In other words, we're doing it because we have to pander to the electorate's views, even if we think they've been gulled by a giant fraud.

And he made plain that he thinks this is exactly what it is.

''I don't know whether Copenhagen was a roaring success,'' he said, speaking of the global political negotiation over a climate change treaty in the Danish capital in December.

''Because every time I turned on the TV the lakes were freezing, the snow was falling and the planes were stuck on the airstrip.'' So much for global warming.

Apparently concurring, Abbott received the British critic of climate change science, Lord Monckton, in his office yesterday.

But if the Coalition doesn't believe in its policy, we have to wonder whether Kevin Rudd believes in his policy any more... "

House Ag chairman co-sponsors bid to block EPA regs
By: Robin Bravender, E&E reporter
February 03, 2010

"A trio of House lawmakers yesterday introduced a bill to block U.S. EPA's authority to regulate greenhouse gases, marking the latest in a string of bipartisan attacks against forthcoming climate rules.

The measure from Agriculture Chairman Collin Peterson (D-Minn.) and Missouri Reps. Ike Skelton (D) and Jo Ann Emerson (R) would amend the Clean Air Act to prohibit EPA from regulating greenhouse gases based on their effects on global climate change... "

THE AUSTRALIAN
Report undercuts Kevin Rudd's Great Barrier Reef wipeout

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/nation/report-undercuts-kevin-rudds-great-barrier-reef-wipeout/story-e6frg6nf-1225826128644

"KEVIN Rudd's insistence that the Great Barrier Reef could be "destroyed beyond recognition" by global warming grates with new science suggesting it will again escape temperature-related coral bleaching.
The Prime Minister yesterday put the reef at the centre of political combat over climate policy, telling parliament it would be obliterated in the worst-case scenario that "temperatures went through the roof".

But for the second year running, the reef has defied predictions of its imminent demise, with researchers from the Australian Institute of Marine Science reporting that mass coral bleaching was unlikely this summer.

While the finding was welcomed by the research community and those on the Queensland coast whose livelihood depends on the reef, it will entrench scepticism about gloomy forecasts for climate change.

Going head-to-head with Tony Abbott for the first time since he became Opposition Leader, Mr Rudd said the reef would be destroyed if global temperatures increased by 4C... "

Climate change emails between scientists reveal flaws in peer review
A close reading of the hacked emails exposes the real process of science, its jealousies and tribalism
Fred Pearce guardian.co.uk,
Tuesday 2 February 2010 18.27 GMT
http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2010/feb/02/hacked-climate-emails-flaws-peer-review

" ...The scientists involved disagree. They say they were engaged not in suppressing dissent but in upholding scientific standards by keeping bad science out of peer-reviewed journals. Either way, when passing judgment on papers that directly attack their own work, they were mired in conflicts of interest that would not be allowed in most professions.

The cornerstone of maintaining the quality of scientific papers is the peer review system. Under this, papers submitted to scientific journals are reviewed anonymously by experts in the field. Conducting reviews is seen as part of the job for academics, who are generally not paid for the work.

The papers are normally sent back to the authors for improvement and only published when the reviewers give their approval. But the system relies on trust, especially if editors send papers to reviewers whose own work is being criticised in the paper. It also relies on anonymity, so reviewers can give candid opinions.

Cracks in the system have been obvious for years. Yesterday it emerged that 14 leading researchers in a different field – stem cell research – have written an open letter to journal editors to highlight their dissatisfaction with the process. They allege that a small scientific clique is using peer review to block papers from other researchers... "

" ...That finding was revealed to be false, and worse, it was discovered to be based not on any peer-reviewed science but on a speculative comment made to a New Scientist reporter by one researcher.

Even as Glaciergate — yes, that's what they're calling it — unfolded, there were new claims that the IPCC had essentially trumped up the link between climate change and the rising toll from natural disasters. IPCC chairman Rajendra Pachauri, who accepted the group's Nobel in 2007, had to dodge calls for his resignation amid charges that he was benefiting financially from global-warming research. Very suddenly the global body that had seemingly closed the case on climate change was springing more leaks than, well, a melting glacier... "

Get the cardboard and paint out and start rehearsing the street theatre - how dare the Brazilian people try to use clean, green, renewable, hydro power to lift themselves out of abject poverty!
The nerve of them!
Get the World Bank onto them - immediately!

"RIO DE JANEIRO - Brazil's government has granted an environmental license for the construction of a controversial hydroelectric dam in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, the Environment Minister said on Monday...."

'Scuse the sarcasm, but we've just had our urgently needed new dam in SE Queensland cancelled by the rockstar activist Peter Garrett, who thinks it's another Franklin Dam campaign (well, you've gotta be famous fer sumthin'!), and we are running out of water here!
The desal plant was long and late and like all desal plants keeps breaking down! Please no more! Build a dam - enough water to fill Sydney harbour runs out to sea everytime the Clarence River floods - which is often.

OR Who Is Paying You To Say That? - The Evil Multimational Fuel Companies Or The Evil Big EU Multinational Government!

I have closely followed "Global Warming" - now "Climate Change" - for many years now and it has steadily and consistantly become apparent to me that there was in fact a small cardre of leftist revolutionaries behind it.

This was supported by the "ClimateGate" Emails scandal and now this very interesting article on the WWF has popped up as people look more closely at the so called "science" of the UN IPCC.
"John Rosenthal’s writings on European politics and transatlantic relations have appeared in English, French, and German in such leading publications as Policy Review, Les Temps Modernes, and Merkur. He holds a PhD in philosophy and he taught political philosophy and classical German philosophy before turning to journalism. More of his work can be found at Transatlantic Intelligencer."

Climategate: WWF, the ‘Para-Governmental Organization’ at the Center of the Storm

http://pajamasmedia.com/blog/wwf-the-para-governmental-organization-at-the-epicenter-of-climategate/

" ...That the IPCC’s assessment would rely so heavily on the claims of an activist organization raises obvious questions about its objectivity. But the issues raised by the IPCC’s reliance on WWF are even more troubling than might appear on first glance. For exactly what sort of activist organization is WWF? It is commonly assumed that it is a private advocacy organization funded by donations from the public: in other words, a “non-governmental organization” or “NGO.” But closer inspection of WWF’s finances reveals that the “NGO” moniker is here — as indeed in so many cases — a misnomer. It would be more accurate to describe WWF rather as a “PGO”: a para-governmental organization. In fact, WWF receives massive funding from states. Moreover, it receives massive funding not from just any states, but from precisely that federation of states that has made combating supposed “global warming” into one of its highest policy priorities, if not indeed its highest priority — namely, the European Union... 5 January 2009, 12:28am
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Earth/Greenhouse_gases_may_trigger_ice_age/articleshow/3934692.cms
"Filling the atmosphere with greenhouse gases associated with global warming could push the planet into a new ice age, scientists have warned.

"Researchers at the University of Birmingham found that 630 million years ago the earth had a warm atmosphere full of carbon dioxide but was completely covered with ice, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The scientists studied limestone rocks and found evidence that large amounts of greenhouse gas coincided with a prolonged period of freezing temperatures.

Such glaciation could happen again if global warming is not curbed, the university's school of geography, earth and environmental sciences warned.

While pollution in the air is thought to trap the sun's heat in the atmosphere, causing the planet to heat up, this new research suggests it could also have the opposite effect reflecting rays back into space... "

Well fair enough. An Indian "scientists say" article is just as valid as any UK "scientists say" article - innit?

The Wall Street Journal Discovers The Earth's Real GHG.

Tuesday 02 February, 2010 - 14:30 by Grant in Default

views (29)

Water vapour is the Earth's greenhouse gas - 98% - Carbon dioxide is trivial. Human carbon dioxide is much less than trivial. Methane, etc, is just an insult to our scientific intelligence - requires a roomfull of complex instruments to even measure it in parts per BILLION!.

WALL STREET JOURNAL

Slowdown in Warming Linked to Water Vapor
By GAUTAM NAIK
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB20001424052748704194504575031404275769886.html

" ...Not only is water vapor the planet's most abundant greenhouse gas, it also is known to amplify the warming effect of other such gases, including carbon dioxide. Scientists refer to the process as a positive feedback loop: Higher temperatures lead to higher concentrations of water vapor, which then absorbs more thermal energy radiated from the Earth, which further warms the atmosphere... "

This is a LIE - it should read "it also assumed to amplify the warming effect of other such gases, including carbon dioxide in computer models."

There is NO repeat NO evidence of this assumed positive feedback loop in the natural world. The Earth's actual temperature is remarkably stable and self-regulating - temperature rises, long term or short term, are never amplified by water vapour.

Global warming: Undeniable evidence
UK GUARDIAN
Editorial
The Guardian, Monday 1 February 2010
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2010/feb/01/climate-change-university-east-anglia

Oh dear
" ...Their conclusions have been backed by scientists at the Met Office,... " who the BBC have just dropped for farcical inaccuracy!

" ...from other British universities, and from the British Antarctic Survey; by oceanographers from Germany, California and Massachusetts; by planetary scientists from Nasa and the European Space Agency; by naturalists in a Europe-wide network of botanical gardens; and by climate historians, foresters, zoologists, palaeontologists, glaciologists and geographers on six continents. Scientists from the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have repeatedly released findings that broadly confirm the same big picture, and for eight of the past nine years those researchers were funded by a Republican administration that would have much preferred to hear a different story. In 2001, the national science academies of 17 nations – including Britain's Royal Society – urged governments to avert future calamity by agreeing to limit greenhouse gas emissions; within three weeks, the US National Academy of Sciences had joined the chorus, and begun to sing from the same hymnal. Although any single piece of evidence is open to reinterpretation, the mass of data assembled all seems to point in one direction:.. " Yes, Newton, Darwin, Galileo and Einstein had this problem too - CONSENSUS - it can be, and sometimes is, wrong, and it can now be bought by power and money!

" ...Global average temperatures have gone on rising. Nine of the 10 warmest years ever recorded have occurred in the past decade... " but global temperatures have peaked and are now falling contrary to models - small detail left out there!

" ...In the past three decades, glaciers have receded at alarming rates in Alpine Europe, tropical Africa and sub-Arctic Alaska... " But not ALL Glaciers, globally, it is meant to be GLOBAL innit? and who says they are melting? - could just be a local drought or something else!

" ...The Greenland icecap has begun to melt... " - WRONG - just plain wrong.

" ...and the north polar sea ice has become both smaller and thinner... " yes but not for long - ITS BAAACK - to normal - if it ever left! The south pole of course never got smaller or thinner.

" ...For reasons connected with human pressure, but also possibly with global warming, arid regions have become more arid, floods more catastrophic, hurricanes and cyclones more destructive. Millions of very poor people have been forced to abandon their homes, to kill their cattle, to walk away from their farms. Oceans have become more acidic, and coral reefs have been bleached. Forests have burned; rivers in the drier regions have slowed to a trickle, or dried up altogether.
Some events may be considered as consequences of natural variation in a climate cycle, (got that one right!!) but the intensity and frequency of such extreme events is expected to grow as the world warms... "
Just as well the world stopped warming then innit?! And what "is expected" by the UN IPCC has taken a bit of a battering lately hasn't it?

" ...The lesson to be drawn from the latest round of questions about climate science is not that scientists make mistakes, and could get the future wrong... " WRONG - that is precisely the lesson to be drawn. Climate changes, climate has always changed, and climate always will change, and we should just adapt to it IF an WHEN it does change, like we always have done so before.

Like I say, undeniable?- Seems very deniable to me!

The startling conclusion that we cannot tell whether there was any significant “global warming” at all in the 20th century is based on numerous astonishing examples of manipulation and exaggeration of the true level and rate of “global warming”.

That is to say, leading meteorological institutions in the USA and around the world have so systematically tampered with instrumental temperature data that it cannot be safely said that there has been any significant net “global warming” in the 20th century."

The UN IPCC published the now infamous "hockeystick" graph and refused to withdraw it.
Among other things it erased the medieval warm and little ice age periods in an attempt to make the warming late last century seem to be all human caused and spectacular.

This paper reinstates the medieval warm and little ice age periods and proves that the warming late last century was nothing special.

" ...7. CONCLUSION
Many interesting questions on the geographical nature and physical factors of surface temperature or precipitation changes over the last 1000 yr cannot be quantitatively and conclusively answered by current knowledge. The adopted period of 1000 yr is strictly a convenience that merits little scientific weight.
Climate proxy research provides an aggregate, broad perspective on questions regarding the reality of Little Ice Age, Medieval Warm Period and the 20th century surface thermometer global warming. The picture emerges from many localities that both the Little Ice Age and Medieval Warm epoch are widespread and near-synchronous phenomena, as conceived by Bryson et al. (1963), Lamb (1965) and numerous researchers since. Overall, the 20th century does not contain the warmest anomaly of the past millennium in most of the proxy records, which have been sampled world-wide.
Past researchers implied that unusual 20th century warming means a global human impact. However, theproxies show that the 20th century is not unusually warm or extreme... "

Paper - Carbon Dioxide 100-200 Years - NOT

Unlike the causes-all-the-bad-weather (AKA extreme-weather-events) - which they just made up as they went along - there was actually some science behind the stays-in-the-air-100-years theory.
Isotope ratios.

Isotope ratios theory (fossil fuels have an isotope footprint different from the present biosphere) only proved that humans were burning a lot of CO2 - not that it was staying in the atmosphere for so long - but it was still used to "prove" it.

This paper disproves the pseudo science behind the claims that human CO2 stays up in the air for up to 200 years. It is actually 5years - 16years max.

This alone invalidates the whole UN IPCC alarm.

AUS - Monckton Plays To Packed Houses.

The only problem has been getting anybody substantial to debate Him.
He's just too darn good - scientifically good - politically excellent - media savy - he just wins hands down everytime.

Where is Australian Of The Year Tim Flannery?

Where is big mouth Prof. David Karolly?

Like everyone else - they have dived for cover.

Unfortunately, Monckton will pass and they will all crawl out from under their rocks again. Business as usual.

Here a resident greenie at Fairfax Ben Cubby tries to have an edited go at Monckton - Pathetic.

Monckton’s Tour of Australia – An Opportunity for Major Political Parties to Learn about Global Warming

" ...With one or two notable exceptions, the press has similarly locked itself into acceptance of the view that governments have a responsibility to do something to “save the planet” but without undertaking any thorough analysis of the basis of the alleged consensus. The Australian has performed best in giving space to sceptics and dissenters but has stuck to the save the planet line in its editorials, some say because Murdoch said so publicly. Yet in a personal communication with Murdoch he indicated his scepticism to me. Last Friday’s editorial moved in the right direction when it called on politicians to question the science used by the IPCC but it has yet to endorse the call for an independent inquiry by a number of Australian scientists...
