" ...After documenting flaws in the scientific literature, flaws in scientific behavior, flaws in the IPCC process, and flaws in the IPCC’s conclusions, Texas asks the EPA to re-examine its conclusions regarding climate change and its potential impacts on human health and welfare, and this time, not to rest its conclusions on the biased opinion of the IPCC.
In other words, Texas asks the EPA to do the work themselves—something they are mandated to do anyway.
The complete Texas Petition is available here in a single pdf file. But for easier navigatation, we have broken the full Petition up into its individual sections, and linked them into the Table of Contents page, which is reproduced below.... "

An Inconvenient Fraud?

"Al Gore and his pals in the science establishment want us to totally change our lives because of a theory that might not even be true. Have the sacred cows of global warming been gored beyond repair?
By Gerard Van der Leun • Illustration by Zachary Pullen
It was good to be Al Gore in the last part of the last decade. In the year 2000 he was the world’s biggest loser. By 2009 he was one of the world’s biggest winners after becoming the master of disaster. Flummoxed by his noninvention of the internet and his nonelection as president of the United States, Gore found a winning hand in predicting the end of the world. In the process, he received an Oscar for his film An Inconvenient Truth, the Nobel Peace Prize, and millions of dollars through his interests in companies that dealt in “carbon credits.” Gore became more of a “Comeback Kid” than Bill Clinton ever was. For most of 2009, it was still good to be King Al. But late in the year, Al Gore’s beloved internet betrayed him... "

I particuarly liked this little quote from it...
" ...That said, there are times when the basic facts in a scientific field become so well tested that, for all foreseeable purposes, they are settled. Examples are the physical laws of gravity, the basic theory of evolution, and also the fundamental physics of greenhouse gases that lead to significant climate change in response to unmitigated emissions... "
Good one Mike - Albert Einstein overturned the scientific concensus on gravity! - the ABC reguarly gives air time to Creationists against the theory of evolution - and the fundamental physics of GHGs prove that Carbon dioxide only has a trivial effect - Water vapour is the Earth's only signifigant GHG - and there is, of course, NO change in any global climate not entirely consistant with natural variation see before - NONE.
At last count the I think the UNI NSW which has a large and very impressive Climate Research Facility gets about $6million dollars from Labor governments.
Then this UK Guardian Greenie thinks that air travel should be restricted to the rich and the elite and government officials travelling to "Climate" conferences - well it leaves so much more room in the skies for Al's private jet and Prince Charles private jet dunnit! Can't have the peasants polluting the skies now can we!

Kevin07 has silenced his media on Climate - Obama Hasn't
Kevin07 is madly trotting out paid government lackeys to stir up the Climate-Change-Is-here-and-now message for the visit. A message somewhat lost in the north of the planet which has just set long term records for cold, snow, and ice this winter.
Kevin07 has just bought off the AUS E-media with a $250million bribe.
Obama is facing a huge conservative backlash in the heartland. His ridiculous Climate Change efforts rallied the opposition and they were waiting with baseball bats for his healthcare bill.
The last thing he needs is a trip to AUS with Kevin07 jumping up and down beside him about Climate Change. That horse has bolted. Climate Change is the loser of the year in the USA - it's gone rancid there.
Sometimes Kevin07 outsmarts himself - on behalf of AUS, Kevin, bud, - a bit of gratuitous advice - talk to Bam Bam, talk to Barark - find out what their agenda is instead of stuffing yours down their face.

"A funny thing happened on the way to a global conspiracy. Reality killed it. Funny how that happens.
Not long ago people like Al Gore were jetting around the globe taking in vast speaking fees, winning awards, telling everyone that they must give up the things they enjoy to save the planet. These doomsayers all told us we were stupid if we doubted them. They knew better, you see. These people claimed all “real” scientists agreed that mankind was destroying the planet with global warming. That we humans were at fault and the only way to save ourselves is bow down to a world government, pay lots of taxes and give up our cars, our electricity, air travel, light bulbs, blah blah blah.
There was a vast left wing conspiracy in other words. One designed to scare people into giving more power and wealth to statist bureaucrats who were employing the oldest trick in the book. Using fear and guilt to manufacture consent... "

" ...That's where VCs see Obama coming in. In his policy proposal, the senator pledged to invest $150 billion over ten years to develop solar farms in the Sunbelt, plug-in hybrid cars that get 150 miles per gallon (64 kilometers per liter), and clean coal that doesn't spew carbon.
Obama knew that he needed California to win, and green billionaires knew that they needed Obama. A new loophole, the Unauthorized Independent Expenditure (IE), could make it happen. IEs can spend and raise unlimited money as long as there is no coordination with the candidate. An IE at its most brazen is SEIU's Committee on Political Education (SEIU COPE), formed in order to raise $26,009,685.53 in support of Obama and $3,163,276.29 to oppose McCain.... "

"The climate always changes and Earth's temperature has been both hotter and colder in the past, compared to the pres-ent. Since the Earth is emerging from the last ice age of 18,000 years ago, it has been steadily warming, by definition. Therefore, any current period of time can be said to be the warmest in the past 18,000 years, again by definition.
Making such a warming claim, as global warmers always do, is a trick and simply states an obvious truth that tells us nothing about what the cause of the warming is... "

"A never ending litany of purported environmental threats to the Great Barrier Reef has maintained a generous flow of funding for several generations of researchers and the reef salvation industry now brings about $100 million annually into the local economy in North Queensland. Although none of these threats has ever become manifest as a serious impact and all of the millions of dollars in research has never found any effective solution for anything, the charade never seems to lose credibility or support.
The popular threat of the moment is ocean acidification from increasing atmospheric CO2 . The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority cite research claiming that coral calcification is in rapid decline from acidification despite the obvious contradiction of surprisingly rapid recovery from storm and bleaching damage. They also propagate predictions that oceanic pH may decrease (i.e. become less alkaline) by by as mich as 0.4 of a pH unit by 2100 and that this will be disastrous for coral calcification.... "

It doesn't matter to Greenies when people die.
People are dying as we speak because their land is being used for biofuels.
Greenies object, not because of the human deaths, but because their beloved rainforest is being cut down for the same biofuels.
Literally millions of lives could have been saved in Africa if DDT wasn't banned.
Why was DDT banned?
To save north American Eagles and other raptors.
Did it?
Well, it had absolutely no effect on eagles and other rapors in the first place so how could it? - it was just Green superstition from the start. They actually objected to DDT because it is very persistant - broke down very slowly - and contaminated their beautiful environment - the deleterious effects were just manufactured to fit this philosophy - hence the magnificent eagles.
'Tell ya what does kill Eagles and other raptors, however - wind turbines - birds of prey are attracted to all the dead and wounded prey species also falling victim to the blades - turbines are stuck up into the prevailing winds used by migrating species - it's a killing field.

Wind turbines: 'Eco-friendly' - but not to eagles
By Christopher Booker
Published: 6:51PM GMT 13 Mar 2010
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/columnists/christopherbooker/7437040/Eco-friendly-but-not-to-eagles.html
The same hills that provide lift for soaring birds offer heavily subsidised profits for wind farm developers, writes Christopher Booker.
" ...The world’s largest and most carefully monitored wind farm, Altamont Pass in California, is estimated to have killed between 2,000 and 3,000 golden eagles alone in the past 20 years. Since turbines were erected on the isle of Smola, off Norway, home to an important population of white-tailed sea eagles, destruction is so great that last year only one chick survived. Thanks to wind farms in Tasmania, a unique sub-species of wedge-tailed eagles faces extinction. And here in Britain, plans to build eight wind farms on the Hebridean islands, among Scotland’s largest concentration of golden eagles, now pose a major threat to the species’ survival in the UK.... "
The bird protection societies have been infiltrated by Greenies funded by the multinational wind turbines companies such as GE who argue - what's a few dead birds when we're saving the planet here?!

Right on the heels of the LIE from China (prev. post below), more out of habit than anything else (although probably also to spite the chairman of the ABC board) the ABC News and current affairs department strikes again!
CSIRO boss says climate change is real
Sarah Clarke reported this story on Monday, March 15, 2010 08:00:00
http://www.abc.net.au/am/content/2010/s2845580.htm
First - there is $800million (see previous post) being spent on climate change research in AUS and the CSIRO has cornered more than its share of it.
Megan Clarke is hardly going to say anything else.
This piece of trite pap is pure propoganda and who do we have to thank - the Liberal Party, who are still so rent by division that they are unable to challenge the science itself.
TRANSCRIPT
TONY EASTLEY: The head of the CSIRO, Dr Megan Clark has come out in defence of climate scientists and says there's absolutely no doubt there's a link between humans and climate change. She says the evidence of global warming is unquestionable "unquestionable" now there's good word and in Australia it's backed by years of robust research. She says climate records are being broken every decade and all parts of the nation are warming. Thought you'd paraphrase her a bit did you Tony?! Well she's hardly going to whinge about being misquoted is she? Kevin would be furious!
Dr Clark is speaking to environment reporter Sarah Clarke.
MEGAN CLARK: Look, we are seeing significant evidence of a changing climate. If we just take our temperature, all of Australia has experienced warming over the last 50 years.
We are warming in every part of the country during every season and as each decade goes by, the records are being broken. Our records of the '70s were broken in the '80s, broken in the '90s and we are also seeing fewer cold days. So we are seeing some very significant long-term trends in Australia's climate. This is a LIE - like the rest of the planet the Australian climate always changes - climate is NEVER static - there are NO "signifigant long term trends" in our climate which are NOT entirely atributable to normal natural variation and the long slow warming of the planet since the last Ice Age.
SARAH CLARKE: So given these observations then, what is your response to those who suggest that the planet isn't warming?
MEGAN CLARK: Well, I think we can certainly look at the long-term trends and any event here or there or a storm here or there really doesn't explain away what we are seeing in these major long-term trends.
We are also seeing consistency. I think the consistency between our temperatures, what we are seeing in our rainfall, what we are seeing in the increase of carbon dioxide and methane in our atmosphere and of course, what we are now seeing in our oceans.
So it is not just one measurement that is telling us. It is our observations and science that we are seeing in many areas being consistent. WAFFLE WAFFLE WAFFLE - is she Kevin07's speech writer?! - what a piece of meaningless tripe.
SARAH CLARKE: So how much is manmade climate change then contributing to all of this?
MEGAN CLARK: We know two things. We know that our CO2 has never risen so quickly. We are now starting to see CO2 and methane in the atmosphere at levels that we just haven't seen for the past 800,000 years, possibly even 20 million years.
We also know that that rapid increase that we've been measuring was at the same time that we saw the industrial revolution so it is very likely that these two are connected. So you didn't want to answer that one Megan?! Ok I'll do it for you. CO2 is a trivial GHG - about 2% - and most of that is natural - the man-made contribution is is even more insignifigant. Trivial upon Trivial.
SARAH CLARKE: So therefore what is your response to those sceptics who are saying that CSIRO and scientists who are witnessing these observations and talking about these observations, what is your response to them when they are saying that you are wrong? Objection your Honour. leading the witness - Sustained!
MEGAN CLARK: Well, actually I think whenever we come into grips with a very complex issue as a society, every time we have done that, we should challenge and we do challenge and it brings us back to our observations. It makes us relook at what are we really seeing? It makes us ask those questions so I think challenge is simply part of coming to understand an issue. But at the same time, plucking out a snow storm in the US or a flood in Queensland or a cold day somewhere and trying to use that to explain away some of these long-term trends, of course, we know is not the right way to do it. I think I look at it in the same way, if you look at someone's bank balance and say the day after they got paid, gee they are looking pretty good and of course, you could never assess whether someone was in fact improving or deteriorating in their finances unless you actually looked at their balance over a year, over a few years etc. So we can't use these small fluctuations, I think, to explain away some of these trends. What trends? There have been no variations in the global temperature that are not entirely consistant with all the natural variation that we have seen before - the Earth has slowly warmed since the last Ice Age. We've seen hotter and we've seen colder.
TONY EASTLEY: The chief executive of the CSIRO Dr Megan Clark talking to environment reporter Sarah Clarke and the full interview can be heard on our AM website. Just search in Australia for AM - ABC. Where was the "unquestionable" quote Tony - I missed it.

The Real Ocean Acidification Story
Volume 13, Number 9: 3 March 2010

"In the most comprehensive analysis ever conducted of experimental studies that have explored the effects of rising atmospheric CO2 concentrations on marine biota, Hendriks et al. (2010) assembled a database of 372 experimentally-evaluated responses of 44 different marine species to ocean acidification that was induced by equilibrating seawater with CO2-enriched air. This they did because, as they describe it, "warnings that ocean acidification is a major threat to marine biodiversity are largely based on the analysis of predicted changes in ocean chemical fields," which are derived from theoretical models that do not account for numerous biological phenomena and have only "limited experimental support."... Some time ago I announced in this blog "we've won now".
What made me so sure?
One word - DOUBT
Alarmists need certainty - no parliament is going to enact any drastic changes when there is any kind of doubt about it at all.
The doubt is not only there now but it is feeding on itself and "Climate Change" is now as doomed as the Dodo - tomorrow's fish-and-chips wrapping.
This article by a resident ABC Greenie is tactically good - I mean if Pachauri himself favours it, the outcome can hardly be in doubt - but it is a strategic disaster.
The UN IPCC has been thrown onto the backfoot - forced to defend.
The strategic disaster, however is that the great unwashed public now have that one word I mentioned before - DOUBT - and the required certainty has gone forever.
We dodged a bullet.

BREAKING NEWS: Top Aussie climate scientist goes feral on skeptics and fellow scientists
http://briefingroom.typepad.com/the_briefing_room/2010/03/breaking-news-top-aussie-climate-scientist-goes-feral-on-skeptics-and-fellow-scientists.html
" ...As part of the conference, the NZ Government funded Science Media Centre,
a climate change propaganda unit, organised for select invited media to attend a briefing from Professor Lowe, and NZ government social scientist Karen Cronin.
The briefing is a unique insight not just into the mindset of the climate science propaganda units, but in the sychophantic media willing to push their message unquestioningly.
During the hour long media briefing, Lowe
•ridiculed the scientists working on the Large Hadron Collider, saying money would be better spent by climate scientists
•argued that for propaganda purposes the media should hype-up individual weather events - such as floods in Mozambique - as proof of climate change
•claimed Hurricane Katrina was clearly caused by climate change
•claimed a conspiracy of white, Anglo Celtic elderly males was behind the skeptic movement
•with NZ government social scientist Karen Cronin advocated researching how to foment enough anger in the public that governments who refused to take climate action could be "pushed out of the way" in a political upheaval

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/nation/emissions-figures-dont-stack-up-professor/story-e6frg6nf-1225839329853
"THE Rudd government ramped up the environmental benefits of its botched $2.45 billion home insulation scheme by grossly overstating the cuts in greenhouse gas emissions that could be achieved by households, expert independent analysis says... "
" ...Dr Williamson said the most optimistic scenario could see the emission reduction get to 0.4 tonnes per household, which meant that the total carbon reduction by 2020 would be about 10 million tonnes.
This would mean that the scheme had cost taxpayers more than $200 a tonne.
A Department of Climate Change spokesman said the estimated abatement of 1.65 tonnes of carbon per installation per household year "takes into account average energy use by households as well as the split of electricity and gas use.
"It is also averaged over Australian climate regions.""

Economic impacts from the promotion of renewable energies: The German experience
Final report
http://www.instituteforenergyresearch.org/germany/Germany_Study_-_FINAL.pdf
" ...5 Summary and Conclusion
Although renewable energies have a potentially beneficial role to play as part of Germany’s energy portfolio, the commonly advanced argument that renewables confer a double dividend or “win-win solution” in the form of environmental stewardship and economic prosperity is disingenuous. In this article, we argue that Germany’s principal mechanism of supporting renewable technologies through feed-in tariffs, in fact, imposes high costs without any of the alleged positive impacts on emissions reductions, employment, energy security, or technological innovation.

" ...Packed with detail and well-argued, its conclusions are unequivocal and coruscating. "Although Germany's promotion of renewable energies is commonly portrayed in the media as setting a shining example in providing a harvest for the world," the authors write, "we would instead regard the country's experience as a cautionary tale of massively expensive environmental and energy policy that is devoid of economic and environmental benefits."
You really cannot get much clearer than that, the result of a failed experiment based on an aggressive policy of "generously subsidising and effectively mandating renewable electricity generation" in Germany that has led to a doubling of the renewable contribution to electricity generation in recent years... QANTAS NEEDS TO EXPLAIN ITS CARBON OFFSET PROGRAM
http://www.sueboyce.com.au/media/MR%20QUEENSLAND%20-%20Qantas%20Needs%20To%20Explain%20Its%20Carbon%20Offset%20Program.pdf
"Qantas needs to explain why its carbon offset program is channelling voluntary payments made by environmentally conscientious passengers to a major company with an annual revenue of almost $800 million, Queensland Liberal Senator Sue Boyce said today.
Speaking in the Senate, Senator Boyce said according to the Qantas website, Fieldforce had been appointed in August 2008 as the supplier of carbon credits for Qantas.
Senator Sue Boyce crossed the floor for Mal and the CPRS but now?
No way Jose.
She seems to have picked up on a very anti-Green sentiment in her electorate.
In her newsletter, March 9, 2010, she bitterly reports how the anti-human and anti-development Green philosophy is retarding our growth...
"HEAD NORTH - NOT ACCORDING TO THE ALP
" ...Under the heading "knowledge gaps for effective decision making", the report baldly states "There are critical gaps in our knowledge and data sources . . . The water available for consumptive use is not well understood."
"While the amount of water in the landscape has been broadly quantified, detailed knowledge of how much water is available, where it could be taken from, and when it could be taken is currently very limited. The capacity to quantify sustainable yield is even more limited."
To translate that from bureaucratic jargon - "We don't know how much water is there, what it's used for or its quality. Despite the fact we've had 15 months to find this out, we instead decided to look at Climate Change issues that might affect the area in 2030."
This is the statement that should have been written in red ink across the front page of the report.
Some of the other assumptions are equally questionable.
The taskforce have decided, since they have no idea on the water systems in the north, that building dams is not an option.
They have indicated that beef production in the north could be doubled, "through changing enterprise structure and increasing intensification". This is despite the restrictions imposed by tree clearing laws, Queensland's Wild Rivers legislation, and other government red tape... "

There has been a huge anti Climate Change backlash in the UK tabloids.
There has been a huge anti Climate Change backlash in the USA heartland.
Over half the AUS Liberal Party do not believe the science behind Climate Change - resulting in a change in leadership.
All the opinion polls reflect a reversal of the public attitude.
This has culminated in four big enquiries, one into ClimateGate, one into The UN IPCC, and one into The UN IPCC head Pachauri and one into the Mann Hockeystick graph.
So why don't we hear any of this on Channel Seven, Channel Nine and Channel Ten?

I mean, one would think it was quite big news.
Climate change was taught as gospel in our schools.
Can a LIE get so big that it just cannot be refuted?
Or...
does it beg the obvious question...
What did it have to do with a sneaky meeting in Colarado USA which resulted in 250 million dollars of licence fees being waived for the AUS commercial television networks?

A change in cloud cover by 1% can produce changes as great as the most exaggerated claims that are meant to derive from humans adding carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. Climate models do not do clouds well and don’t consider fog and mist which have the same effect as clouds,” reports Ian Plimer. (1)... "

It was pure superstition to blame the warm weather in the 1990s on "Climate Change" just as it is pure superstition to use this record freezing winter as proof of lack of "Climate Change".
The smallest global climate cycle so far identified is about 30 years. One very cold season in one half of the globe is not signifigant to climate.
So why did it bring "Climate Change" down?
Well, they've been lying to us - even the most gullible have now noticed - "hey wait-a-minute-didn't-you-say... ?"
What IS signifigant is that...
ONE claims by the UN IPCC that the 1990s were ongoing "Climate Change" were a lie.
TWO the UN IPCC claim that "natural forcings" were too weak and too long term to be causing that 1990s warming were also a lie.
"Natural Forcings" came back and bit them on the bum!
What we DO see from this global satellite temperature record is that...
ONE The global temperature is very stable and self-regulating. There is no built-in upward bias - except the very slow rise since the last ice age.
TWO The warming jumps are never amplified by an increase in global humidity as asserted by IPCC "Climate Change" models.
THREE Volcanos in lower latitudes do affect global temperature but only temporarily.
Looking back - we cannot yet accurately predict forward - the recent record cold in the north will probably be labelled as volcanos. It may still be the start of the predicted 30 year downturn.

This exchange between scientists is a very good summary of the pro and con arguments.
Save it, print it, and revise it before your next dinner party discussion!
Comment by Bill Gray, Professor Emeritus, Colorado State University on Kerry Emanuel’s Boston Globe (15 February 2010) Op/Ed piece titled “Climate Changes Are Proven Fact.”
http://icecap.us/images/uploads/Gray_Rebuttal_to_Emanuel.pdf
" ...Emanuel “…, the surface temperature of the Earth is roughly 60 F higher than it would otherwise be thanks to a few greenhouse gasses that collectively make up only about 3 percent of the mass of our atmosphere.”
Gray – The globe’s greenhouse gas induced higher temperatures are due almost exclusively to water vapor (the overwelling greenhouse gas) not much at all due to CO2 and methane. It is the variation of atmospheric water vapor (particularly in the upper troposphere) that is of dominant importance to the greenhouse gas warming question. It is likely that increases in CO2 and other minor greenhouse gases will lead to small reductions in upper tropospheric water vapor which will bring about greater loss of infrared radiation energy flux to space. Increases in CO2 and lesser greenhouse gases should (due to their influence on upper level water vapor) lead to little global temperature increase. Such conditions appear to be presently occurring. During the last decade and a half when CO2 amounts have risen there has been an increased (not decreased) infrared radiation flux to space. Little or no global warming has occurred in the last decade.
Emanuel “…, in the absence of any feedbacks except for temperature itself, doubling carbon dioxide would increase the global average surface temperature by about 1.8 F.”
Gray – You can’t at the outset eliminate water vapor and cloud feedback and consider only temperature feedback and expect to have a realistic explanation of CO2’s future influence on global temperature. Water vapor and cloud feedback changes can negate most or all the lesser greenhouse gas influences on global temperature.
Emanuel “The rate of rise of surface temperature is consistent with predictions of human-caused global warming that date back to the 19th century and is larger than any natural change we have been able to discern for at least the past 1,000 years.”
Gray – this is pure ‘off-the-wall’ assertion that the global warmers want to believe in because they do not want to consider other causes of climate change which would negate their human-induced warming hypothesis. The global warming community has yet to come to grips with the powerful potential climate altering influences of multi-decadal and multi-century changes in the globe’s deep ocean circulations. The Medieval warm period and the early Holocene warm period are believed to have been warmer than today’s temperatures. Some natural processes brought about these changes. Why could these same natural processes not be acting today?
Emanuel “… current models predict that a doubling of carbon dioxide should result in global mean temperature increases of anywhere from 2.5 to 7.5 F.”
Gray – All the global General Circulation Models (GCMs) which predict future global temperature change for a doubling of CO2 are badly flawed. They do not realistically handle the changes in upper tropospheric water vapor and cloudiness. They give unrealistically high upper-tropospheric moisture and temperature condition for CO2 doubling. Model global warming estimates for a doubling of CO2 are thought by thousands of us to be many times larger than what will likely occur. The GCMs are not yet simulating the fundamental influence of the multi-decadal and multi-century scale variations of the ocean’s deep circulation patterns.
It should be noted that the GCMs have failed to account for the weak global cooling over the last decade. It is also important to note that the GCM groups do not make official shorter range global temperature forecasts of 1 to10 years which could accurately be verified. If they won’t do this why
should we believe their forecasts at 50-100 years? Any experienced meteorologist or climate scientist who would actually believe a long range climate model should really have their head examined. They are living in a dream world... "
