To the relief of many of the country’s biggest manufacturers and industries, there has been a distinct shift in the government’s tone on green issues.
 
Even Steve Hilton, Mr Cameron’s chief policy adviser, and the man credited with coining the phrase “vote blue, go green”, appears to have had some serious second thoughts. Not even the Greens are promoting it anymore and the Australian Labor Party are trying to ignore it and hope it will go away, but China is supposed to have vindicated the Aussie Carbon Tax.

Could it be a rather clever ploy to neutralise the EU Carbon Tax on Airlines from countries who “don’t take measures to combat carbon pollution” (as if the EU were!) so the poor white trash in Europe can save face?

for Climate Impact Research, showed that the global temperature has increased by 0.5°C in the past 30 years. In all of the five global data sets, 2009 and

At the climate change confab which began in Durban, South Africa, last week, Australia's delegates reportedly tried to make a statement about our world-leading tax and were rejected. They had to wait till day two.
The world has moved on and Australia sits like a shag on a rock, risking $100 billion on a gesture hardly anyone noticed.
As Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Bono and Al Gore jet towards Durban to mingle with 15,000 climate delegates, the truth is that the world financial crisis has spoiled their party.

Poor Greg Combet.

Poor Greg, politics is so fickle.

He did such a good job getting the Carbon Tax through. He must have wanted to be at the ALP Conference this weekend to bask in his glory.

Everybody else seems to be very happy that he wasn't!

"Climate" has hardly rated mention!

First the UN IPCC tones down the alarm.

Now the Financial Times reports the CDM, the UN's carbon offset market, seems as doomed as the proverbial Dodo.

So Greg's Carbon Tax will morph into a carbon trading scheme in which only NZ, California, Europe and Shanghai are partipating and Australia will achieve it's carbon reductions by buying offsets in an offset market that has simply disappeared or degenerated into high farce!

Nobody in the ALP wants to know because the Carbon Tax was a triumph for the Greens and the ALP vote is haemorrhaging to the Greens as a result.

Half the Liberal Party who got sucked in by the fraud of "Climate" and persisted with their own "Direct Action Plan", not-quite-so-big, price-on-carbon also want it to just go away and leave them alone.

"The oceans cause a lot of “noise” in our climate — the water is 4km deep and mostly close to freezing, even in the depths under the tropics. When the ocean is “stirred” cold water wells up and sucks the heat out of the atmosphere giving us a La Nina and a cooler year. When the ocean is calm, the massive stores of “cold” stay sequestered below, the surface water warms faster, and satellite record an El Nino warm spike. Figuring out the effects of CO2 with surface thermometers is difficult because of this noise and variability. But the vast oceans are the giant storage depots for heat content year after year."

"Critics (like Skeptical Science) will say it’s wrong to think this matters “you need to consider all the evidence“, including papers that show warming, measurements from the last 50 years through other techniques, and measurements from the deep ocean down to 2,000m. Superficially it sounds reasonable, except that none of that extra data adds better or more accurate information, or shows the Argo results are wrong and should be ignored. The ARGO system started in 2003. How could extra energy captured since 2003 have reached 2km underwater without heating the top 700m first? The oceans take about 1,000 years to fully churn. The time scales don’t make sense, and if the water 2,000m down is warming, it’s more likely that subterranean heat is rising up from the planet-sized-ball of molten lava below, rather than leap frogging down from atmospheric imbalances in a trace gas."

The odd case of the missing Argo data
   Strangely with modern telecommunications, the latest ARGO buoy data is sometimes unavailable for months (see the bottom of this post). The Argo results travel at the speed of light  back to base, yet for month after month skeptics asked for data while the publicly funded ARGO team did not upgrade the ARGO information. If the results had been a rapidly warming ocean, updates would have been issued every week (and with press releases). But when researcher Pielke asked for data it was flatly refused it in Sept 2010. Public outcry and blog pressure meant that eventually an update was released circa March 2011.

Didn't cite evidence of on-going global warming or sea level rise or ocean warming.
Didn't address the now muted claims of the UN IPCC that Global-Warming/Climate-Change is an imminent threat, but is a much more long term problem - "trust us it will get bad - eventually".
Didn't address the total lack of evidence for the - Causes-all-the-bad-weather-theory in the new IPCC report.

Historically, the human race dies when it gets cold and prospers when it gets warm.
 
How can we make rational decisions on "Climate Change" when we only get the bad effects, we never get the good effects, we need to balance the good effects with the bad effects and we only ever get the bad effects. Why is that I wonder?

This 9 page psuedo-intellectual bullcrap is an effort to discredit the fact that 32,000 U.S. scientists signed a petition saying that the UN IPCC claims of catastrophic global warming were grossly exagerated.

Yes, you got it,

before "Global Warming", now "Climate Change", came along there was no such thing as "Climate Science".

The Earth's climate changed very slowly and inevitably and was of mild academic interest in a few related areas of science.
Very few academics specialised in global climate, there just wasn't the interest or the funding.

Then along came the UN IPCC with a "scientists say" rapid warming from fossil fuel burning and suddenly there were thousands of "climate scientists", all Greenies, and all owing their existance to the politically generated "Climate" alarm.

There is another little problem, the mistake the 32,000 petitioners made was to think that "Climate Change" was science.
It is purely a political artifact.
The Nazis published a similar document to the above,  a collection of various criticizms of Einstein can be found in the book "Hundert Autoren gegen Einstein" (Hundred authors against Einstein), published in 1931.
To which Einstein commented - "If I were wrong, it would only have taken one."
The Nazis were lucky to have been overrun by the russians before the Atom Bomb was dropped on them.

FACT - These islands are coral atolls and coral can grow much, much, faster that the ice caps can melt. Coral Atolls "float" on the top of the ocean and rise and fall with it.

Fact 1 - The world's GHG is water vapour - by far - 98%
Fact 2 - Water vapour, unlike carbon dioxide, is not almost saturated in it's GHG effect.
Fact 3 - The water molecule is much more effective at blocking infrared re-radiation (the GHG effect) than the carbon dioxide molecule.
Fact 4 - a doubling of carbon dioxide only produces a very small rise in temperature - you need an exotic, esoteric, computer model to generate an alarm.

WRONG - the global temperature often rises all by itself and it NEVER produces a positive feedback from more water vapour. In fact the global temperature is remarkably stable and self regulating as far as water vapour is concerned - more heat produces more cloud and more cloud reflects incoming heat  and cools the planet back down.. Global water vapour is measured by satellites and it hardly varies.
There is NO science for this "causes more moisture" theory they just made it up as they went along. It is an ASSUMPTION. An assumption which is factored into all their nice, pretty, glossy, climate models on which the whole global warming alarm is based.

Installation vessels as well as sufficient suppliers of sea cable are lacking. The construction of wind turbines is getting delayed too – banks shy away from financing the 1.5 billion-Euro projects.... "

In recent decades, there have been a number of debates on climate warming and its driving forces. Based on an extensive literature review, we suggest that (1) climate warming occurs with great uncertainty in the magnitude of the temperature increase; (2) both human activities and natural forces contribute to climate change, but their relative contributions are difficult to quantify; and (3) the dominant role of the increase in the atmospheric concentration of greenhouse gases (including CO2) in the global warming claimed by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is questioned by the scientific communities because of large uncertainties in the mechanisms of natural factors and anthropogenic activities and in the sources of the increased atmospheric CO2 concentration. More efforts should be made in order to clarify these uncertainties.

At Latitude 55° there is NO solar power, worth speaking of, available - DURH!!!

Then there's the cloud and fog. - "The United Kingdom straddles the geographic mid-latitudes between 50-60 N from the equator. It is also positioned on the western seaboard of Eurasia, the world's largest land mass. These boundary conditions allow convergence between moist maritime air and dry continental air. "The BBC has produced another blockbuster nature show helmed by David Attenborough.
Frozen Planet is told in seven episodes with the last, ‘On Thin Ice‘, focused entirely on global warming and man’s alleged impact on the planet. No surprise there, Attenborough produces some remarkable nature TV but is a well-known warmist and depopulation fetishist.
 
But the BBC has dropped the number of episodes from seven to six for overseas markets. It realizes that in the US and elsewhere, hardcore global warming nonsense doesn’t sell, so it made ‘On Thin Ice‘ an optional extra:

British viewers will see seven episodes, the last of which deals with global warming and the threat to the natural world posed by man.However, viewers in other countries, including the United States, will only see six episodes. The environmental programme has been relegated by the BBC to an “optional extra” alongside a behind-the-scenes documentary which foreign networks can ignore.
 
Greenpeace and other activists are not happy about being tossed under the bus:
“It’s regrettable that millions of viewers in the US won’t be getting the full story when they watch this mesmerising series. It’s like pressing the stop button on Titanic just when the iceberg appears.
