The NSW Government has recently introduced the Climate ChangeFund to promote initiatives that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support other energy saving initiatives across NSW. All electricity distributors are required to contribute to the fund.  All the energy rates included in this Price Guide, (with the exception of Off Peak 1 and 2 and Big Blue,) include an amount for the recovery of Integral’s contribution to the Climate ChangeFund.

No change in the world’s temperature for a decade, but already the Government has changed the way it charges extra taxes. Great scam.

By the way, green preachers keep telling us global warming is an opportunity, not a cost. So why does everything to do with it come with big prices tags? "

Most Australians would be very surprised at just how many of their MPs don't believe it and have never believed it.
They have to battle the party line, the almost spiritual belief in G. Warming of their fellow MPs, and of course, the unfortunate fact that a magor media outlet (Seven) jumped on the band wagon, and then there's the appalling ABC bias. Not to mention how disingenuous a certain former environment minister and potential party leader will appear.

With every school child now being taught the pernicious doctrine, it's a bit like turning a supertanker around - takes a while!!

This Graph shows how the predictions and the reality have diverged - drastically.

We now have the following very dubious situation.

 GREENIE  Computer models predict the globe will warm drastically.

 SCEPTIC  But the computer models are wrong, the globe stopped warming and seems to be cooling now and they failed to predict that.

 GREENIE  Oh well, ten years is only a short time in climatic terms - it'll get warmer and we'll all die then.

 SCEPTIC  How do you know that, the planet seems to be quite capable of cooling all by itself, despite our CO2 output getting much higher?

 GREENIE  Don't say that. You must be a devil from the evil multinationals. We've made new computer models. They clearly show we'll all fry in hell if we don't repent and pay new carbon taxes.

Yeah right!!!!

AEF 2008 CONFERENCE

The AEF Annual Conference will be held at the Rydges Lakeside Hotel Canberra on the weekend of October 11th and 12th 2008.  The theme for the conference will be A Climate for Change. 
Professor Don Aitken, social scientist, retired Vice-Chancellor and President from the University of Canberra, Professor Bob Carter, marine geologist from James Cook University and William Kininmonth former head of Australia’s National Climate Centre and a consultant to the World Meteorological organization’s Commission for Climatology will all speak on climate science.

Unfortunately everybody was watching the Olympics, but last night AUS 60 minutes finally balanced it's G. Warming reporting without the usual "oh we don't talk to him, he's the devil in the form of the evil multinationals". They report the very real doubts now apparent.

Pretty radical stuff considering that all the nations children have now been taught a doctrine that's getting more and more dubious as time goes by.

"PM KEVIN RUDD: Here's a measurement which people should just sit back and pay a bit of attention to - the 12 hottest years in human history have occurred in the last 13 years. That's a fact.

TARA BROWN: It's not my position to correct you Prime Minister but Ive been told that in fact during the middle ages the global temperatures were two to three degrees warmer than now. Certainly we've had the hottest 12 years in recent history but the planet's been a lot hotter.

PM KEVIN RUDD: Well, I stand by what the International Panel of Climate Change Scientists have had to say. There will always be argy-bargy about elements of the detail...

...TARA BROWN: But if you believe the sceptics, and carbon dioxide isn't to blame for global warming then we face massive change for no good reason.

DAVID EVANS: Isn't it a bit dopey to wreck the economy for a purely theoretical reason when the alleged symptom, warming, stopped six years ago.

TARA BROWN: They perhaps would use the word prudent as opposed to dopey, that the risk of not doing something is too great?

DAVID EVANS: I urge them to look at the modern science, the evidence isn't there. There is no evidence that carbon emissions cause a significant amount of global warming.

PM KEVIN RUDD: I am not, myself, a qualified scientist. I'm elected as Prime Minister of Australia to act on the basis of the considered scientific advice.

TARA BROWN: But it's never too late to continue the debate is it?

PM KEVIN RUDD: Look at your kids in the eye tonight and ask yourself this question - "If we have this much evidence available to us now "on climate change and just refuse to act, "then what are the consequences for them?" The alternative, however, is to just stick your head in the sand and hope it all goes away."

How about looking your kids in the eye and thinking after y2k how could we have been so stupid to waste your legacy on such a stupid mistake. Billions upon billions of dollars just wasted!?

It was of course the new carbon tax that did it.

Kevin 07 and his huge spin machine think they can sell ice to the Eskimos. The ALP rejected the honest option of a revenue neutral carbon tax - big mistake.

Some more basic physics for you.

This graph ( http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/7c/Atmospheric_Transmission.png/595px-Atmospheric_Transmission.png ) shows how solar energy comes down as visible light and is re-radiated back to space as infrared heat.

Carbon dioxide only absorbs the infrared radiation in a very narrow band, around the 15 microns wavelength, and as a tiny trace gas (380ppm vs 10,000ppm for water vapour) it has only a purely theoretical GHG effect.
"Climate Change" theory relies entirely on an assumption in computer modeling that an undetectable increase in CO2 heating is going to increase the overall global water vapour content and thus cause a real heating effect.

The big problem with all of this is that, unlike water vapour, the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere can only absorb a very narrow infrared frequency band from the surface radiation, so once all that frequency is absorbed carbon dioxide just ceases to have any more GHG effect. The heating effect of CO2 drops off rapidly as adding more and more of the gas just has less and less effect. Guess what? The amount of CO2 in the air has already absorbed almost all it can.
 
In their usual total contempt for scientific fact, Greenies just ignore the FACT that you need more and more CO2 to produce the same GHG effect - doubling CO2 does NOT double its Greenhouse Effect - it's only a quarter more effect. 

The effect of carbon dioxide on temperature is thus almost (inversely) logarithmic and climate sensitivity decreases rapidly with increasing concentration.

We have reached the point where adding more and more CO2 to air just has less and less effect on its theoretical GHG influence portrayed in the models.

A lot of "Climate Science" was just made up as they went along.

The collapse-of-the-ice-sheets-theory is a prime example.

So what do you do when the source of all the climate alarm, the UN IPCC, betrays you and points out that the maximum sea level rise to 2100 will only be 1M - that's the maximum - it would probably be much less than 1 metre over the hundred years?

Simple. You invent a dramatic scenario of how melt water at the surface is going to break up the ice sheets and then every time an ice sheet breaks off you shout "see we told you!" to every available environment reporter. Works every time.

The theory is that Global Warming is going to form puddles of melt water and the melt water is going to run down crevasses in the ice cap, make them bigger, lubricate the base and cause the icecap to  break up and slide off into the ocean and melt at warmer latitudes.

There is just a few little facts getting in the way.
 
   ONE     The ice caps are over 3km deep, tapering down to iceberg thickness at the edges.
  TWO    The ice caps sit in bowls of rock - there is simply no plane for them to slide down.
  THREE  No crevasse can possibly extend beyond the point where the pressure of ice alters the physical properties of the ice crystals and causes the ice to flow like plastic, thus filling in any holes.
  FOUR   All icecaps already have meltwater beneath them. The heat from the earth's core maintains a thin layer of meltwater underneath all the present icecaps - The icecaps slowly flow outward from the above-mentioned plastic flow under pressure - the meltwater beneath them is irrelevant to the flow.
  FIVE     The shear physical size of an icecap and the freezing climate there makes it impossible. The Vostok Ice Station sits on top of 80% of the world's ice, hundreds of Km from the sea. The ice is almost 4Km deep beneath it and the rock beneath the ice is below sea level. The highest recorded temperature at Vostok is -19o C, which occurred in January 1992, and during the month of July 1987 the temperature never rose above -72.2o C. Sorry, but it just beggars belief that a rise of a few degrees in the world's temperature is going to have any effect there before the next ice age kicks in - just aint gunna happen!
